Villa Matilde ligger i Cellole norr om Neapel. Här började Francesco Paolo odla det vin han var med att utveckla och återskapa i början av 1960-talet. Hans gärning har beskrivits som ett mirakel när det gäller att återuppliva mer eller mindre utdöda druvor. I dag drivs Villa Matilde av Francesco Paolos barn Maria Ida och Salvatore Avallone som lika passionerat som sin far engagerar sig i projekt kring regionens antika och unika druvor. Familjen Avallone är pionjärer när det gäller att återuppväcka gamla, lokala druvsorter och sätta dem på vinkartan. I dag är Villa Matilde en av Kampaniens ledande producenter och deras historiska ambitioner och ekologiska projekt är ytterst respekterade i vinvärlden.
